Framewerx Datacenter Now Includes The First iXsystems NVMe SAN
Framewerx has become the trailblazer in North America by establishing the region’s first NVMe SAN from iXsystems, and now emerges as the sole IT company in the region capable of offering clients access to this technology. This milestone solidifies Framewerx’s continuing commitment to innovation, providing businesses with a storage solution that aligns with the evolving demands of modern computing.
SANs (Storage Area Network) are often likened to ‘cloud’ storage, and offer scalability, flexibility, and superior performance compared to traditional storage solutions. While NVMe has become the standard for individual PCs, its incorporation into SAN and cloud storage is relatively new. NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) is a cutting-edge storage access and transport protocol designed specifically for flash and next-gen SSDs. Compared to traditional storage protocols, NVMe is designed to reduce I/O overhead, provide faster performance, and communicates directly between the CPU and the SSD. All these factors are critical when it comes to evolving trending technologies such as high-performance computing, AI, and machine learning. NVMe technology improves upon the traditional All-Flash SAN performance by at least 4x (and capable of up to 20x, depending on the use case).
For businesses who have the demanding workload requirements that only an NVMe SAN can fulfill, Framewerx now brings to the table the advanced storage solution to meet that need. The adoption of NVMe SAN technology is still in its early stages, posing questions about who in the SMB space can provide and support this innovative storage solution; Framewerx can. The newness of the technology raises concerns about stability, interoperability, and long-term support. However, our technicians are trained and prepared to address these challenges.
Having the ability to utilize the traditional SAN (regular, hybrid and All-Flash) and add NVMe requires a complete network restructure, involving significant time and expense. However, the performance gains achieved with NVMe SANs make it a compelling reason for organizations to choose Framewerx as their provider.
Giving our customers the option to have access to all the levels of storage capabilities shows Framewerx commitment to the private data center market and its customers. In a world of ever-growing data needs, Framewerx needed to partner with a company that is not only scalable but considers data a #1 priority. With iXsystems we are showing how committed we are to protecting our customers data in both rest and transition. iXsystems uses ZFS as their underlying management solution that is industry recognized as filling the gap between traditional RAID limitations. Along with the increase in storage capabilities, Framewerx data core is taking a leap forward to 100GB baseline from the traditional 10GB core.
